Local Taxes

Municipal and Prefectural Residence Taxes

Residents living in Oita City as of January 1 are subject to municipal and prefectural residence taxes each year.

Fixed Asset and City Planning Taxes

  • People who own land, houses, buildings or machineries as of January 1 are subject to the Fixed Asset Tax each year. 
  • People who own a land or property in urban districts are subject to the City Planning Tax.

Automobile Tax

People who own a car as of April 1st are subject to the Automobile Tax each year.

Light Vehicle Tax 

  • People who own a kei car or motorbike as of April 1st are subject to the Light Vehicle Tax each year. 
  • Each year, owners will receive a mailed notice stating the tax amount due in May.
