Oita City is now promoting a line of local goods, with themes such as history, culture, and local products, emphasizing the increasing appeal and liveliness of the region. The city's latest undertaking is a line of neckties by the prominent Japanese artist Tatsuo Takayama. Mr. Takayama's series of neckties include five separate motifs: "Young Girl in Black," "White Melon," "Sound of Mountain," Abundant Mountains, Abundant Waters," and "On a Chair." Another product associated with the artist Tatsuo Takayama is a jigsaw puzzle entitled "Young Girl."
